Teachers are greedy. This seems counter intuitive, but trust me. Bring in a box of supplies to a school, have the principal announce that there is free stuff in the cafeteria, and watch the frenzy that ensues. We want the best for our kids, and if that means throwing bows at our coworkers for the last secondhand copy of "Where the Wild Things Are," we'll do it.

That being said, teachers are also extremely grateful for the people that make our jobs easier. If you're interested in helping, check out the few links I've posted below. Donate your time, your money, your childhood treasures- it's worth it.

TFA has several ways to get more involved.

Donate as much or as little as you want to whatever project you want...
a great way to support individual teachers.

www.classroomcentral.org
A local organization that has given over $22 million worth of school supplies
to CMS teachers for free in the last eight years.  This place was my saving grace.
